Ten myths about science (Index)

If you visit any popular science blog that discusses culturally (not scientifically) controversial ideas like evolution or the safety of vaccines, then you will notice that there is a handful of anti-science arguments that appear over an over again in the comments section. Even when scientists take time away from their research to explain what's wrong with them, however, they refuse to die. These myths are, for lack of a better metaphor, zombies. To help deal with these, I decided to write a series of posts about the ten of the most common myths about various scientific subjects.

While I am not a scientist in any of the fields in which I investigate, these arguments usually only require one to read a couple of popular level books or take a single college course to conclusively debunk. To ensure that my points can be investigated and followed up, each post will include a reading section where my thoughts originated.
